Reframing Dreams
Revelations, Realisations and the Power of Language
In the latest episode of Two Mutables In a Pod. Emily and I set out out to speak about the topic of dreams. I chose this topic purely because it felt resonant to me at the time, but I didn’t quite know why or what structure Emily and I where even going to follow. It was all very vague but as we finished recording I realised that Emily and I had unlocked an extension to our framework Trusting Energetics As A Language.
Language is a tool that we all use on a daily basis, but how often do we take the time to re-assess the feeling that language gives to us especially when its a subtle word that seems harmless. Emily and I shared many musings about our dreams and how we relate to them as well as some of the healing experiences we have had through this space.
But something hit me as Emily spoke..
What if we referred to our dreams as revelations?
Would we take them more seriously?
Would we act on them with a bit more care?
Would we hold them with more tenderness?
This was quite a tough thing for me to digest in the moment as I had experienced a couple rough warnings about someone who I would surrender my life over in order to protect them over and over again. This revelation and perhaps realisation would cause for everything to crumble. I’d have to rethink and dismantle my approach in order to act from the spirit of what has already been revealed to me. The point is a revelation especially for those of us who are seers, feelers and healers carries a bit more weight & truth .
Cambridge Dictionary defines revelations as the act of making known something that was secret, or a fact that has been made known. Merriam-Webster defines revelations as an act of revealing or communicating divine truth/ something that is revealed by God to humans . Reading these definitions alone asks us to reframe the way we view our dream space and to duly give the respect and reverence required to the messengers that allow us to bare witness to an unfolding or awaiting timeline.
So theres a small invitation to move with the understanding that your dreams are always trying to reveal something to you. This may be something great, symbolic, literal or a small little nudge. The challenge is staying with the revelation long enough to decipher exactly what part you need to honour.
